The SPA is about halfway between Tralee and Fenit, an estuary mark that in my experience produces decent sized flounders and a few bass at high water, best bait lugworm which you can dig on the spot, plus a few white rag. According to a couple of recent features in Sea Angler, it's a good low water mark for rays, including stingrays, though you wouldn't get stingers this time of year.

Excellent low water mark. Locals only fish it at this time. Big spring lows that get you near the channell are essential. Rays aplenty, thornies and painted most common but undulates and stingers (close range) in season.

Plenty of flounder, bass, gars, dogs etc. you name it
