People:Me
Duration:Wexford 2hrs, Wicklow 2.5 hrs
Tide:rising
Weather:pretty good
Bait:rag, lug, razor
Rigs: 2 & 3 hook flappers
Results:1 whiting,2 codling, 6 schoolies, 2 dabs, 3 flounder, 1 doggie
Report:Bought a camera for the tackle box, stuck it in a resealable freezer bag (thanks for the tip Al) and headed down Wexford way. Good enough surf running and got into the schoolies straight off. Managed 4 and when they stopped biting picked up a couple of small dabs and a tiny flounder. Decided to pack up and fish a wicklow beach on the way home.
Again it was schoolies straight away, just 2, and when they moved off I got flounder in the same spot. Set up another rod for scratchin in close for the tiny codling and whiting. Was about to pack up when I remembered that roger de dodger was catching dogs here during the week, so on with the razor and lashed it out. Took about 20 mins but landed my first doggie of the year, more of a puppy really. Made my night, still can't figure out why as they caused me so much heartache last year, following me up and down the coast.
