After observing the weather all week and seeing how hostile it was i decided to plan a trip for saturday night in hope that the wind would bring a bit of life to the sea and maybe with a bit of luck some early bass would play ball.I knew it was still a bit early in the season but reports of a steady flow of schoolies showing up on the wicklow beaches filled my head and the optimist in me took over.Although the rougher weather would help my chances with the bass i also knew that it could stop me fishing altogether if the big hauls of early summer weed show
We arrived on the beach and found another bloke with some younger family members also fishing and after a quick chat with him set up the gear and sent baits out to sea.We were armed to the teeth with all the finest of bass and schoolie baits but i immedietly noticed how calm and fine a night it was which normally after a week of rain would be highly welcomed but with the sea being as flat as it was it didnt look like bass conditions
when i started to land 1 and two every cast
