Waterford ramble 2-3/4/2010

#1 Post by Tony Fella »

People:Drummer & myself

Duration: 13h +

Tide:all sorts

Weather: all sorts

Bait: all sorts

Rigs:all sorts

Results: Codling, Whiting, Coalies, Dabs, Flounders

Picked up Drummer and headed to Southside Angling for bait and to pick up my new rod i ordered after a quick breakfast roll we hit the road we had our mind set on a Clonmel mark but when we got close to Waterford we seen people fishing so we stopped to see how the fishing was going they were getting a few codling so we had a chuck place was covered in fish doubles and triples each cast lots of dabs and flounders.

We packed up and headed to our Clonmel mark we were greeted with a savage surf looked very bassy hopes where high but soon squashed as all our baits came back untouched and the surf picked up  and my rod decided to head for the sea when i was packing up but Dummer saved her iv never seen him move so quick heard the lads at the Wexford Easter comp didn't have it easy either..back to Drummer other half's place where we were greeted by litre bottles of Bulmers a warm fire and a curry sweet

Woke up not feeling the may west quick fry and we where on the road again went to another mark set up and time to chill out and rest the heads didn't happen tho as we were getting fine codling every cast must of had over 70 fish ran out of bait around half 7 so PJs was the next mark to hit they do a serious cod and chips

Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
