Hot fishing spots

Hey guys I've Only recently took up fishing and I'm looking for good places to fish from greystones to arklow anyone any ideas of good spots thanks

anywere along that stretch is fishable all the beaches including greystons,kilcoole,killoughter, and arklow its self are all well known fishing marks but id reccommend bray harbour or the rocks in greystones near the town if your a beginner as you can fish into fairly deep water without the bein able to cast too far.(and the ground is fairly clean aon both marks)

Thanks for that info mite try it out during the week heard about ennereilly off lad in bait shop but havnt fished it yet any news on how that fishes

ennareilly was fishing well for cod over xmas not sure wat its like at the moment but the winter species are headin out an the summer species are coming in give it just into may and them beaches should start to fish well for flatfish schoolies dogfish etc i was in greystones about 3 weeks ago and had a good hawl of codling and whiting on a night session

at this time of the year most marks will produce ok but more so at night get youself a decent headlamp and a not so decent spare headlamp and give the afore mentioned spots a lash,try to fish a rising tide as this is more productive than a dropping tide on most marks ,as for harbours and deep water you dont need a massive cast to get fish they will come very close in at high water and a simple overhead thump will get you into the action,harbours can get boring after a while saying that some marks have sandbanks at distance that hold the better fish so learning to wang out a bait has its advantages choosing the right size hook can make a big difference if your missing bites on big hooks dont stick with them go down a few sizes and see what ,s being robbing your bait if you are fishing a new mark go with a buddy and arrive in daylight to suss out your surroundings before it gets dark and if all else fails ask for help on sea angling ireland again

any point in wanging with a fixed spool or are you better off paying the extra few quid for the multiplier?

high tide is supposed to be around the 22.15 hrs

good fixed spools these days are as good as multis - wang away

have to say if you cant cast far with a fixed spool you wont cast any futher with a multi and it will break your heart and you will prob regret buying it i use both multi and fixed and cast about the same with both distance is all about technique and power at the right moment not what reel you use even a old lad can learn to cast futher with a few lessons and a bit of help ask croppyboy
