Veals delivery to Ireland
dont know where this should be so the mods can move it if its wrong.
i ordered from veals last week and the package hasnt shown up. it was dispatched to "citylink" in the UK and was handed over to a courrier in Ireland. citylink are fobbing off Veals about it, saying it was delivered, then saying there was nobody in the house to collect on friday and that they stuck a card in the door. the wife was home all day friday and nobody called or stuck anything theu the door.
anyone know which courrier does the deliveries for them to Ireland, preferably if anyone in cork has had something delivered in the last few months?? An Post do the small packages but someone else does the bigger ones.
to be fair, Veals have been very nice and are constantly ringing and emailing me so my gripe isnt with them, its not their fault. they seem to think that the package might be lost but the courrier wont admit it.
cheers if anyone knows,
denis.

Hi Red,
I have never dealt with Veals but have had alot of stuff courier and posted to me.If you have the tracking No. and they say they attempted to deliver it, the package should be returned to there local dispatch centre, where they will suggest another day to deliver or you can pick it up.
Since this is a courier you will had to have signed for it, so since you haven't seen a thing its the couriers problem. It is also upto veals to call the courier as they are the ones that ordered it.
Cheers
Brendan
Ps. I know the hassle this is, i have had it happen so many times. Some courier companies are dreadful

I ordered a few things from gerrys nearly a week and a half ago and still no sign of it, same thing with a friend, says it was dispatched and will be delivered in 3-5 days. Emailed them today and heard nothing back!

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
ive ordered from veals plenty of times and never had a problem. this is the 1st time ive had a big package tho so it was always an post which would take 3 days.
the courrier in the uk is messing veals about and for some reason arent telling them who they've given it to in Ireland. veals seem to think they've lost it but wont admit it.
i just figured if i could find out who delivers for them here, i could ring them myself and if they never got it in the first place, then veals can get back to the courrier in the uk with the and it would be sorted quicker. if they have it, i want to know why they were lying about delivering it and then changing their minds and said they tried.
like i said above, i've no quibble with veals over this and would/will order from them again.

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
Hi Guys...
I ordered stuff off Veals recently but after a week and a half nothing showed so i called veals and they said everything was signed and delivered. It turns out the courier tried to call me...but called the wrong number...some guy answered and arranged to meet the courier at a nearby location...and amazingly drove off with about 400 euro worth of rod and reel...Veals were excellent about it...but still come on.....I nearly didn't get the stuff before a holiday....I'm not sure who the courier was...That courier was stupid stupid stupid

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
just been onto the driver who has the package. ill be gone to work by time he gets to me so im meeting him on the way in to get it from him.
he tried to deliver it yesterday but couldnt find the house and didnt have a number for me to ring. citylink in the uk were given my number on monday so it seems like it was their mess up. it only arrived in cork monday night(according to the depot) but citylink in the uk told veals that target tried to deliver it to me on friday so they were just lying thru their teeth.
just glad to have it all sorted eventually.

probably yeah, got a RT beach buddy. the postage was £20 but it still worked out a little bit cheaper than here(not much tho) so i stuck in some lures, leader and a load of terminal tackle. added everything up to what it would have cost in €€ and saved about €50.
i wasnt in a rush for anything so i'd still say it was worth it

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
Hi Guys
I have ordered numerous times from Veals and have never had a problem, even returned items to them and their customer service is excellant. Average delivery time to Dublin is 4 days from order, however my mate ordered two weeks ago and had a similiar problem with Target as Red has had, tried to deliver, then tried to redeliver (after an address change) a TABLE! to his girlfriends work instrad of a Tripod and the story goes on.....
Its the courriers that are the porblem here, Veals should be told about all of these problems, if you havn't already.
Glad you got sorted red - and there is a saving to be had if the order is a suitable size.

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
I've had trouble with couriers delivering parcels, but to be fair I live in a rural part of Kerry, down a bohereen, there are no signs to even say the area in which I live.
I've found the easiest way to ensure that I get parcels is to get them delivered to the local post office and collect .
Pete.

Re: Veals delivery to Ireland
Never had any problems Veals. They have to be the best online by far. I rang to complain about a crack on a new rod and they sent me a replace two days latter.I caught my postman walking down the garden path after leaving a note to say there wasn't anyone home for delivery once or twice.
