Hi lads,
Im new to the site and am from the just outside Cork City...Blarney...Ive just started up beach fishing after stopping for five years (come from UK and moved to Cork) and have got the itch again...Im keen to start casting at distance and want to know if anyone is able give me a few casting lessons on how to pendulum cast....Ive tried picking up tips on the net but with no use.
Also Ive fished the wall Monkestown, Ferry Point - Youghal, Inch - East Cork with mixed results...a few decent codling, whiting, flounder and a couple of blanks!!!....any decent local marks where I can catch the following - Rays, Doggies and of course Bass.
Im keen to catch as many species as possible this year.
Any help/advise welcome!
Cheers. Lee

Re: Pendulum Casting & Cork Fishing
the pendulum cast is easy to do. but the way i do it is face away from the sea and spin toyour left. the trick is that its a trebuche effect you dont whip it out when the lead is swinging out but when its at your side if you know what i mean. but sometimes the best fish dont need a far cast. but only out to the third wave. i found a video on youtube to teach me the pendulum cast all you have to do is type in pendulum cast and theres loads of ways to do it, and loads of videos from different casters
when fishing on the beach, more important than bait are two things
1, a seat cause a cold wet arse is no good
2, jax roll cause you dont want to get caught out!!!! and using your socks is rough!!
