oyster virus
in 2008 and 2009 a virus that kills oysters was introduced into 17 bays from seed from france. so far we know that it is spread in water and by contact with other oysters.a list of the effected bays is available at marine.ie. the oyster farmers in the non effected bays would appreciate it if anglers would not take water or baits from the infected bays for use in the clear bays. further info is available at MARINE.IE.
