en espanol?

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

I'll be having a few of them there DH's my good man....even if the price of carriage was a bit expensive from Spain you'd still be saving a crap load of money...be interesting to see if the site is on the level....and there isnt a catch somwhere...usually if its too good to be true...it usually is!!

The reason they are cheap is they are not based in mainland spain, they are based in the
Canary Islands and are basically Tax free, although the Shimano Technium 4000 is the same as veals 115

The Canary Islands are a group of Spanish islands off the African coast. They are outside the European Union Value Added Tax Area (because of their low VAT, 5%) but otherwise EU law applies in its totality. It is possible that you will have to pay customs and excise duties on goods imported into Ireland. Better check before you place an order, you could be in for an unpleasant surprise.

As far as I know if it being sent from outside the EU then its usually 21.5% vat on the total of the price listed on that website and also the postage costs, there is probably also going to be duty of a couple of percent too but the prices still look cheap. I suppose the worry I'd have is comeback if something went wrong and of course the language barrier, anyone ever order from them?

If its covered by e.u. law(as they are part of spain) then the irish government cannot force you to pay vat in ireland once you have paid vat in another e.u country. otherwise those who use u.k tackle shops would have been paying irish vat on their orders from the uk after also paying uk vat all along. They cannot charge customs and excise duties either i would think as we would also have had to pay customs and excise on orders from u.k.
