It depends on conditions and where you are fishing. On a nice beach with a surf rolling lug, crab and razors work well. In an estuary or off rocks lures / plugs are best.

Best advice.... don't start bass fishing as it is an incurable disease!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,
get as much reading material as possible ie a good book on bass fishing[hooked on bass].Read it cover to cover as often as you can, explore the areas where you feel these fish hang out and try it .Give it a few sessions night ,day,.tides etc record your info in a diary.Eventually you will gather a wealth of info that afterwards will become invaluable to you.For me this took many years but luckily theres the internet these days to help eliminate the heavy work that alot of us bass addicts had to go through.
Most importantly be patient and don't give up.
