Report: well it was a toss up whither we would join the drunken hordes on paddys day or go fishing,no contest!!we hit the beach by two after getting stuck behind bloody tourists on the tourist trail two rods out is search of flounder and turbots,i need a new species!! the wind was howling across the beach but we had a beach shelter which was a blessing,but bites were going to be hard to see.It was a case of chuck out the baits and bring them back in twenty min later hoping for a fish,i blanked the last time out and i did not want a repeat preformance. well john started the whupping by landing the first fish,a small flounder,but, see, we fished our first comp last week,and its surprising how small a fish can be and still be a keeper,so this fish was measured and came in at 18cm,just! so first counter for john then he got the second!! 25cm,this was getting out of control,as he started to get cocky and i was getting a slagging! the ungratful b*****D!! after all i taught him!finally i got of the mark,another flounder of 19cm,so at least i was of the mark,BUT john got another one 19cm,by now he was in serious slagging mode,and i was in trouble,things went quiet at high,but on the ebb i connected with another flounder 22 cm i was back in the hunt!soon after, i got another!!yah boy only 19cm but i could feel victory creeping up and thats when things went ass over tit,as soon as i started to slag him back,the f**ker got a double of five bearded rockling,both counters at 19cm each.that was that and we finished soon after.mind you one of those rockling was very unuasul with a sliverly gleam of him,the most unuasul colouring ive ever seen on a rockling.i would have said he was a albino,if such a thing is possible with a fish.john has the pics which he will post soon.

always the same noel take someone under your wing and before you know where you are they are teaching you!!!but at least you didnot blank mate which is always good in my mind!!!!!

Nice report, nice fishing and good craic, well done Noel,,funny how even uncompetitive types like me can get suckered into these comps once theres somebody else there

so i take it there was a bit of silence on the way home in the car then john gets his bass before you do and now he keeps thrashing you too i wonder will it be the same this year on the boat too well,,, at least you can say your consistant

ya dave,normally we would have put back the small fish without measuring them,but ONE comp later and we were measuring EVERYTHING
