ultima red ice line
Hi lads have just been given a spool of 15lb line called red ice from ultima.  Any one use this line and is it any good.....

yes its good line.henry gilbey used to use it a lot.its has a tendancy to lift when being cast of a multiplier reel though when new.so take it easy for the first few casts till it beds in right,other wise it will birdsnest on you.

I agree beachcaster, I use Red Ice on one of my Multipliers but 18lbs, have been using Ultima power steel on the other reels  recently and find it better. The lower dia lines are better for Multipliers.

Ive heard it called 'marmite' line as you either love it or hate it. I have used it for years and it would be my line of choice, it has good abrasion resistance and good knot strength. If you are using it on a multiplier give it plenty of time to bed in and dont go for the horizon until it has. The bright red colour also stops birds flying into it(hopefully)
