MURDER HOLE BEACH MELMORE HEAD DOWNINGS

#1 Post by hairyconger »

People:Myself

Duration:6hrs

Tide:filling

Weather:Rain and wind

Bait:Sandeel, mackeral, squid

Rigs:2 boom scratching, wishbone rigs

Results:6 Dogfish, 10 or so flounder

Report:Fished this beach a few times recently and to believe it should be put on this webiste in the shore marks. Good session considering im still a novice shore angler. Anyone ever fish this beach have any tips etc or catch anything else. A selection of leads and a couple of rigs is all the gear you need to bring to this area as the ground is all sand.

Is this the small beach/bay on the left as you reach the end of the caravan parks?

Nope your thinking of melmore head itself when you come to the road before the first caravan site there is a field at the corner of the road with a small house inside it. Rite up through the middle of the field you will find a beach at the other side of the sand dunes. P.s Melmore head is also a classic spot for spinning (very snaggy)

All around the 1Ib mark im a bad judge of weight. The thing is with this beach knowone has ever heard of it and its hidden out of the way. I bet im the only angler to cast a rod here this year most head out onto melmore head 2 mins up the road. Great spot i recommend it to all

Yeah its the same one, I think. There is a nice little cottage where the road bends and you walk across the low field out to the beach. There should be a lake away to your right. Big rocky outcrop slightly to the right of middle on the beach itself. Same one?
