Charter with Colin Barnes

#1 Post by MikeQ »

I want to get out with Colin very soon. Looking for names to fill the boat basically lads. If any of you are interested in doing a bit of wrecking leave your names on this post and pm me your numbers and lets get a trip organised. No better boy to put us on some fish than this man! Colin is based out of Union Hall in Cork. The boat is a Cat and ideally we would have 8 or 9 anglers on board. Price per head should be in the region of 50 - 60 euros.

Mike, As JW (professional charter organiser :D ) does, provisionally book a date with Colin. Post up the date and lads will confirm. At least with a date guys can organise time off etc. I'm sure given Colin's recent run of haddock you will have plenty takers.

More on this - I spoke to Colin this morning and he has told me that all the weekend dates with slack tides are booked up till the 8th of May so this is the day. We will be fishing a coming tide all day and going after Cod. Its a neap tide and according to Colin there is a wreck that should be holding some big Cod by then. Gonna fish a max of 9 rods for this lads and I already have 4 names so there are 5 spaces left. Its a Saturday by the way lads.

Hi guys, just in case there are some disappointed anglers wanting for a trip with colin, i have 2 places for Sunday may 2. we will fish 10 rods and the cost is 55 euro. unfortunately i do have to ask for payment in advance to 'Bait All Tackle'.Fermoy Co Cork. i was out with Colin last Sunday and Wednesday. Now for the bad news, a red tide has come inshore early this year and this did affect the fishing, however all is not lost,by traveling to the father wrecks we will most likely be outside of this.
Now while i have your attention. I am part of a newly formed club. Youghal Bay Boat club. there are a cross section of interests from angling, sailing power boat ect. Our general aim is to get greater cohesion between sea goers and so, stronger representation on issues relivent to this area. On June 26 (provisional) we intend to hold a boat angling competition for private craft (not charter). Can any one provide me with the regs regarding boat categories ? and for that matter any info that may be relivent, thanks. Fionn
