HI ALL :D :D
WANTED TO NO CAN U DIG RAG ALL YEAR OR IS THERE A GOOD OR BAD TIME ??
WAS LOOKING TO FIND OUT WERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO DIG LUG I MEAN DO YOU ONLY GET THEM ON SAND OR CAN THEY BE DUG ON MUDDY IN LETS OR IS IT BEST AT THE WATERS EDGE AT LOW TIDE ECT ??? AND WHEN SHOULD I START LOOKEN FOR PEELER CRABS OR IS THE WATER TO COLD YET AROUND THE DONEGAL COAST ??? AND WHEN CAN YOU GET SAND EELS OR ARE THEY ABOUT ALL YEAR ??? ANY HELD WOULD BE GREAT THANKS :? :?

Rag dont tend to be dug this time of year as they are breeding, give it until mid march atleast - thats certainly the norm here in Dublin, but there may be regional differences.

As to your other questions, I dont have time at the minute to answer and am not from your area, maybe someone else will jump in and help.

I think that the best advice on bait gathering is to get yourself an os map, a bucket and a fork. Mabey take a walk around at low tide and have a look for castings. I find that I get the best digging for Lugs around channels and slightly sheltered bays, but for me the fun is finding good bait areas myself. It's pay's to do your homework. Too early for peelers yet I think. I dig around the Gweebarra, mostly on the Letir side. Watch out for your own safty and either bring somebody with you or tell someone where you are going. Also watch out for crazy shotgun wielding farmers that don't like people tramping on their land.

HI im from strabane be side liford so its an hours drive to the sea in most directions i fish about donegal bay and round portnablagh when i get time
