thinking of any place in particular of staying in ireland

my advice is to stay in courtown county wexford
you have both good beach and charter boats
for boat contact joe byrne at courtown angling centre
provide good bait and will suplie rods if needed
great help and friendly

Bring a raincoat. Other than that I'd head to Cork. There appears to be a lot of different options there and you could shift around a bit.
List 2010. fish

List 2011: less fish

2012: less fish again,

2013: even less fish.

Coming from Jersey no doubt you'll be sick and tired of all those Black Bream, Bass, Turbot, Brill, Rays etc and would fancy a nice dose of Pollocks and Coalfish, so head for the South or West Coasts.

id reccomend Bob Moss' books. i got 2 of them a few weeks ago delivered for €20 but might be a bit more for postage out of ireland. it covers everything for fishing in the dingle peninsula from where to go, baits etc. even gives directions to marks.

Kilmore quay County Wexford also a good option. charter boat angling out of Kilmore quay and plenty of good shore spots on the south east coast.
Long time no sea.

i have to agree with corm on this kilmore quay very handy to get to from rosslare ferry and there is plenty of charter boats operating , and has some fantastic shore fishing aswell.
not forgetting plenty of pubs in wexford town only 20 minutes away
