bait elastic holder tip

#1 Post by copperhead »

If using a bait elastic holder get a small bicycle puncture repair patch cut it to the size of the inside of the holders cap, glue it on the inside of the cap put the elastic in the holder and use a sewing needle to pull the elastic through the rubber patch, this will stops the elastic from springing back in the the holder the only drawback is that when your elastic runs out you need the sewing needle

With the elastic holder i use, if the elastic springs back into the container, i take it out and loosen a length about 4" then put it back into the holder and suck it out through the opening........

with some of the 'bought' elastic holders, like the one you get the mustad stuff in, to keep the elastic from going back inside it just slice a small nick in the lid with your filleting knife to clip it into.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!

Or if you know somebody who gets heartburn and they use Zantac or Ranitidine effervescent the tubes the tablets come in are also ideal for using as an elastic dispenser.
