The Connemara debacle 20-02-10

#1 Post by spindlefist »

Ppl: Me and Mate Kev

Report: after much wise advise from local lads, I still ventured west on saturday, as I knew if I didn;t I'd be annoyed at myself, full of 'what if I'd gone, would I have gotten ray and such?'......
So left dublin at 5thirty am....
got to connemara and fishing bout 1pm.. would have been sooner , but I was faffing about in terryland looking for fish bait and long Johns....
Used 3 rods, pulleys and flappers with mack/squid/herring and sand eel, but not a touch on anything! Called it a day at 5pm.. then headed back to DUblin... 640km for a blank :D A new PB !!
Not a wasted trip though as really enjoyed the day, my friend caught his first sea creature(a starfish, which he was chuffed over) and I picked up some paintings and arranged new hangings for coming up to summer...

Hope the Galway Bay SAC had better luck today, would lke to have joined yis for the meet but was too broke to stay over, hahah!!

we had a slightly better day i had the plesure of digging a hole in my beach buddy so we had a toilet because the beach was so packed. there was a few curious silloettes in the beach buddy when the sun hit it. also got to see scuba steve swim past everyone's line, that was very helpfull of him. not mention the turbot debacle, dbrock remembers that one

Daire believe me theres worse things than a blank   . If it makes you feel any better I once travelled a couple of hundred kilometres in Spain trying to find a girl i had met a few days previously   .Took me 2 days, buses, hitching lifts, walking, even got a ride on a donkey and cart. When I finally got there she was gone   .The embarassment i felt when the barman told me   ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,had to make some excuse as to why i'd left my mates to come back   . Worst part was that i had 4 days to kill before i met up with my mates again   ,,,,,,so i would have preferred to have travelled to Galway for a blank.
