Planning a trip this Saturday

Right lads planning an all nighter for this Saturday, departing Belfast but not really very fussy where we end up, willing to travel up to an hour any direction...

Not overly fussy on quarry so long as we catch - most likely we will only have access to frozen mack and squid.

Any suggestions? Anyone else heading out?

Scrob- there was post put up form one of the members re. waterfoot beach. I would give that a throw. Failing that you could head to Donaghadee- there seems to be good reports from there lately.

I would give waterfoot beach a blast at night and give ballycastle beach a shot during the day.. good luck

I fished Waterfoot pier just before Christmas, caught a few small codling but was plagued by a bloody seal! Kept taking the fish off the hook!

Might give the beach a throw, wonder if the flatties would be as keen on fish baits as they are for worms, don't know if I'd get a chance to dig any worms..

Just to follow up on this guys, I think we will head to Waterfoot, not sure yet whether to fish the pier or the beach.

Can anyone tell me whether I should really go out of my way to try to get worm baits or will frozen mack and squid do the job? Also if you were going would you fish the beach or the pier?

the beach fishing 3 hook flappers with size 1 hooks baited with rag or lug tipped off with mack or squid. fish from 3 hours into the rise until 3 hours after high water. don't cast beyond 50 yards as you'll put yourself beyond the fish good luck man

Cheers for the advice Al, no idea how I am goin to get my hands on any worms as Larne need them collected by 2 tomorrow and I'm in work til 4, will have to do some research! Anywhere else you know of that would sell them?
