i'll fully back you if you promote catch n release. there are places where large numbers of bass can be caught in one session. your claims certainly aren't over the top!

Did you catch the haul above beachcasting or out in a boat?,what baits are you using and if beachcasting what distance are you hitting?.

hi art/ if you use 4 hooks on the one snood just a few inches apart, like you suggested in the snoods lenght thread, would there not be a fairly high chance of hooking the fish in the mouth and while it is on getting caught on one or two of the other hooks along its body.
Surely this is not a great idea if you plan on returning the majority of fish back as unharmed as possable?

it happens
it also happens with most multi hooksrigs at times. some might say it gives u a better chance of landing your catch
def. gives u a better chance of hooking in the first place
i would sooner catch than not
i/u would stick a hook in a small fish/worm/maggot ect.
u/i would peel a crab alive?????
good point col but worse things happen at sea

look this is silly. noone with any clue would have written that last comment. saying using hooks close together because i would rather catch than not hardly inspires confidence, sure a bit of TNT would get ya the same results, maybe that is the secret we keep hearing about!!! also catching sea trout out of season and then posting about it on line not only shows a complete disregard for the laws that are there to protect these fish which incedently spawn a few weeks before the salmon but also an ignorence rearely seen on tyhis forum. I rang this art fella last week on the number provided and got thru to his ma! left my number and message that i wanted to go out with him and guess what............ no reply.

lock off

#9 Post by kieran »

Okay

I am locking this thread off before it goes off the rails (why we needed a second is beyond me!).

Art, if you wnat to post on the forum, have the courtesy to register and you can send private messages.

Drop me an email first please as I have misgivings about anyone pitching for business on these boards be they a guide, gilllie, charter skipper or even a bait digger!

thanks
Kieran Hanrahan

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
