sand blasted on the beach

#1 Post by doggie3131 »

People:me and goldwing

Duration:7am-1pm

Tide:high 12am

Weather:gale force sw winds

Bait:rag,lug,razor mack

Rigs:two hook/three hook flapper

Report:we were supposed to go out on sat night but the mother of all fogs stopped us, so it meant an early start sun morning, god but i hate 5am wake ups   we got to the beach to be greeted by the mother of all off shore winds that helped to walk down to the tideline,as we were looking for flounder and turbot none of the casts were far out, nothing much happened for the first few hours, but then i got a rattle and a small flounder of 27cm came in,quick pic and back it went, soon after john got his first flounder of the year,a nice one of 32cm,one for the pan! :D :D but that was that,no more fish, the wind was so strong that it kept trying to send us swimming! we decided to pack it in after we had emptied about a lb of sand outa our bags.twice! :D

 Even you're not that dedicated, surely? Even being out there from 7am to 1pm in those conditions must've been like serving time in a Siberian gulag. Well done on the few fish, better days are not far off :)

We were only getting home at 4.30am from Westport town! A wind swept beach is no place for sore heads! ;)

Well done for getting out, I had to go to the pub and watch the rugby so i couldnt get out at all over the weekend.
