gutted it last nite at the waters edge. i think the 100 euro reward is for an electronic tag which im sure mine is not. ah well i could always stick the tag in a new fish
Aww Seanie, that's a shame that you missed you on the chance to earn some dosh. If your bank balance is anything like mine at the minute you could have done with it!
Nice one for catching it in the first place.
Now others will know what the tag is for if they catch one with one in it thanks to this, so happy days!

nice fishing seanie. i never knew about the tagging scheme until i read your post . we live and learn, so cheers for that would be a lovely bonus to get one worth 100 quid
Very interesting these fish are netted and tagged each year in the river Suir in Waterford our Juv. anglers get a few each Juv. competition I know of them paying out once to a Juv. angler who reported the tag number and returned the fish alive (we have no take for our Juv. competitions) you should still report the tag number so they know the movements around the coast of these very small coddling.
ive been in touch with the marine institute and sent them a pic, gave them the code over the phone and the fact its gutted seems to have no bearing on it cause their sending a guy over to collect it from my house
