Is this the first Thornback of the decade from the swilly?

#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me and mick

Duration:7.00-11.00pm (08.02.10)

Tide:falling

Weather:fairly mild

Bait:dead rag, sandeel, squid, mackeral

Rigs:flapper, pulley

Results:me; 1 thornback, 2 dogfish, 1 coalfish. mick; 1 dogfish, 1 shore rockling

Report:arrived at the mark intent on catching fish and sure enough in about 30 min mick had a dogfish (our first this year) and I managed a small coalfish, before too long I had my two dogfish and then my next bite looked very like another doggie, reeled in and landed my first thornback :D  :D of the year, and decade :!: , very early compared with last few years.
Anyway just wondering if many others have been caught yet from the swilly :?:
sorry the photos are so poor, forgot my camera :x and had to rely on the phone for a picture

happy days, didnt think the rays would be in yet, thought maybe the cold spell would keep them out a while longer, sounds like you got the first one mate, well done.

now to get rid of this cold and find some free time,
