was itching to get out for a throw so hit fahan beach, had to put the floaty suit on right away as the wind was freezing. i know its too early for the rays at this mark but decided to give it a try all the same, for you never know well it wasn't to be, baits keep coming back untouched. later as the tide was well into the drop i got a few good pulls but no hook ups, tried every bait i had even a few stuffed squid but no joy. half way into the session i got over half my bait gobbled up by a fecke'n monster of a dog i was at the waters edge ready to cast and seen the brute at my gear, by the time i got to him he had wolfed down all my sand eels two mac; and all my squid B*****d at the end up i did have a laugh about it, for i knew that when the owner of the dog was on their way home, the mute would probably boke it all up on their back seat hes the big white gitt in the pic'. i gave it another few hours fishing before the cold finally got to me, for i couldn't even feel my feet anymore, so packed up an headed for home...

right i'am off for a swally!!!!!!! so were's the F***'n purse!!!!!!!
unlucky with the blank don but fair do's for giving it a go. bloody irresponsible dog owners can be a pain at times up there alright . but look on the bright side,,, it did'nt crap all over your gear this time
Hard luck Don. That's awful what happened to your bait
I would have loved to have seen your fish when you first spotted the dog at it!
I'm surprised you didn't give it a good boot up the rear end! (not that I agree with kicking dogs before anyone eats the face of me for saying that) Maybe you didn't because of how big it was, you probably would have lost your foot up in there! ( I could make a good photo edit out of that one!)

Unlucky with the blank. Frigging dog- that has almost happened to us a couple of times but we have been able to stop the dog before it gets to the bait. Swiftly followed by a look that could kill, aimed at the owner!!
I agree with you in that you would get some justice if the poor oul dog boked on the seats!
Unlucky Don going after Raymonds tomorrow myself see if there's any knocking about.... had the same thing happen before with the dog no bites all day as soon as the fish come on the feed so did a big Lab took the last of my bait

I remember fishing in Dun Laoighre at the band stand years ago using mac as bait.I couldnt find the mac and when i went looking i saw a huge rat pulling the the mackerel into a hole in the floor had to pack up and head home Also at a lenster league comp a dog piddled all over my rod and reel not nice, As the saying goes if you cant control your Dog it should be on a lead at all times.
Its a nice place to fish up there its an all or nothing beach we had great fishing there one day and then the next day and nothing.. if the beach isn't fishing well try the pier....

paula the reason i didn't drive my boot up its kyber is because when i got with in ten feet of it, the fecker bared its teeth and starting growling at me it was only when its owner came over and put the lead on it, and pulled it away, that i was able to grab what was left of my bait. now this thing was huge!!!!! how they are able to feed the thing is beyond me they must be going out at night and stealing wean's to feed the fecker

The dog does looks huge in the photo Don and that was taken from a safe distance I notice! so no wonder you didn't give it a good kick up the backside! It would have ate your foot and came back for your leg!
It looks rather pleased with itself mind you, you'd nearly think it had a bit of a grin on it's face as if to say to you- "ha! I ate your bait and it was tasty and there's nothing you can do about it!"
"Limit your Kill - Don't Kill your Limit" ><O>-><O>-><O>
last year after myself and arthur nearly ended up with a huge bull seal on the boat i bought a black widow slingshot and a bag of marbles these will work everytime sharp shock to the system no matter what size the dog is
next time i'm at fahan i will be leaving two joey mac's at the side of my box, and if any dog wants them they can gladly have them, for they will be stuffed with mustard chili and real hot curry powder after eatting them they will go up that beach like red rum

That should do the trick Don!

Hard luck Don on the blank and the bait loss but I think that dog looks a bit queezy, hopefully it bokes all over her nice long pile carpet. Then it will get its just rewards ha ha.
