Bait: Lug, Fresh Razor, Mackerel, Blueys, Sandeel Frozen and Live
Rigs: Flappers and Pennel Pullys
Results: Bass, Coalies and Flounder
Report: Arranged to meet up with baitdigger over in Clare for a session I was a bit late arriving due to copious amounts of top shelf stuff till the wee hours. So after setting up which was a struggle in itself the fishing began. I spotted doggie3131, goldwing, Mat and the crow down the other end of the beach. Got a call from doggie to say my film crew had arrived he told me about Mat landing the Bass on goldwings gear it was hard luck on goldwing as it would of been his first ever Bass.... Nothing was happening for myself and baitdigger down our end until baitdigger reeled in a Flounder he packed up shortly after as he'd to be somewhere he left me some of the razor he'd collected earlier which he'd caught his Flounder on. I pulled in a Coalie as he was saying goodbye. That was the start of the Coalie fest ended up with 11 Coalies all on the flapper in close. I had to wait for the tide to drop about an hour so i could get my pennel rig back as I had gotten snagged up first cast with it and didn't fancy pulling for a break as i'd just re-spooled the reel. It came free easily enough once i got some sideways movement on it. So with my gear back i loaded up the pennel pully with a whole fresh razor wound up and blasted a bait out as far as i could get it as nothing but Coalies were showing in close which was in contrast to my last two sessions here where all the fish were in close. The bait was only out about 5 mins when an aggressive Bass bite registered happy days in came a 40cm Bass reloaded and sent another fresh razor out at distance not long after another wallop and in came a 41cm Bass the tide was about 2hrs down at this stage. I decided to take 5 and stroll down to see how the lads were getting on down the other end. After a quick chat doggie and goldwing were bemoaning their lack of Bass. I told them to come down to me and i'd get them a Bass but they declined my offer so i headed back down reloaded another fresh razor wound up a cast and sent it out again with in 5mins Bass number 3 came in the biggest of the night at 45cm he was bleeding a bit so i put him in a pool to see if he would recover took a min or two but he seemed to be okay got couple of shots camera died so one's from the mobile. I brought him down to the waters edge and after some coaxing he went back fine. As i was packing up i spotted the lads heading off over the dunes. I'm beginning to like this beach Cheers for the Razor Neil certainly did the trick

Well done - after reading your report I want to head out to one of my local bass marks but I know I would probably be just wasting my time at this time of the year - we need at least another month before our bass start to show up in numbers.
