Report:

well usually im one for a fairly epic report, but seeing as a didnt fish i really couldnt be bothered doing one, but then again thats not a fair attitude is it? so i better do one so.
we kicked our second year off today with a record turn out with some old and new faces, and i must say its a great feeling to see the club grow and go from strength to strength. not fishing myself i decided to perfom committee extrodinaire and make sure everyone was having a feel good time, taking some action shots and helping the newer members get into the match fishing swing of things along the way. the fishing was sporadic and poor to say the least, no real pattern emerged as the day went on and the numbers of fish never really rose above single figures for the majority of anglers. a few nice fish did showed their heads though, with mark sinnot taking two nice flats of 27cm and 32cm at distance on sandeel aimed for invisible dogfish (where have they gone?). graham keane also managed a nice late season flat of 32cm and respectivly took the longest flat pool with it on his last cast. two new members harry catchpole and john hughes eventualy ran out clear first and second and well done to them. i have a fu list of result up tomorrow and roger should upload some of the pictures when he gets a chance. once again thanks to everyone for making today a huge succes and see you at arklow!

special thanks to viking angling bray for sponcering our prizes

1st john hughes 207pts
2nd harry catchpole 180pts
3rd paul heffernan 149pts
4th karl whelan 138pts

longest flat- graham keane 32cm flounder

Well done to John and Harry setting the standard for all the newbies! It was a lovely day weather wise and I didn't feel the cold with thanks to penny vests and long johns  So much so at the end when I picked up my coat it was frozen. And the last pic that Rodger posted is of me with three fish. These fish did not count though as I'd lost the rig and got it back on my next cast. I was gutted and I think two of them were counters too.

Big well done to John and Harry, hats off good fishing on a slow day. Great to see so many anglers out yesterday, the only bad thing is the longer walks to your peg :( :D

fair play to all who made it guys :P . that wee flounder is a lefty. have'nt seen one of those in ages. only about a quarter of the flounder larvae develop into leftys where the eye moves to the other side during development  . so fair play to whoever got it. i managed 111 flounder last year and not one of them was a lefty

Thanks lads, things were slow for me aswell, i settled in after i got my first counter on the card a dab of 22 cm  after that i could relax as the blank that haunted me from the same beach the week before was now at the back of my mind 8)
after i had the first fish i heard harry had 2 counters so happy days we were both off the mark.
all i can add is we were 2 happy lads heading home in the jeep, it's be a very long time since either of us fished against more than 4 lads on a beach, and to come out first was a fantastic result for me ,and to have harry coming a close second was the icing on the cake for both of us
great bunch of lads and a great turn out, looking forward to the next one already

Tune in on the 27th Feb for the next installment of the John & Harry benefit show!!! Well done men, great performance.

Fair play to Kevin, Pat & Dimity too, first comp they all caught a few fish on a tough day

Also great to see Brock's bubble burst so dramatically, is that 3 blanks in a week DB?
