wicklow harbour tadpole fish

People:myself my girlfriend and my son

Duration:2 hours

Tide:
risen Weather:sunny

Bait:macky

Rigs: 1 hook flapper

Results2 flounder and 2 small shore rockling and a 1lb tadpole fish :lol:



Report:got to wicklow harbour about 1 by 2 i only had 2 flounder and 2 small shore rockling so i start packing up and when i went to pick up my mini species rod it doubled over i couldnt believe it a 1lb tadpole fish as far as i know ther really rare from the shore so that really made my day

i have been fishing 36 years and have only seen two of them in the flesh in that time.
my wife caught one about 20 years ago and i caught one 3 years ago :mrgreen:

well done 8) that old harbour can throw up some weird fish ,only place i ever got a ling from the shore,is their a speceimen weight for tadpole fish?

excellent catch gibbo 8) 8) you'll not see too many of them on peoples species lists by the end of the year, well done man 8) . that mark has some variety of fish available from it all year round.
