Freezer advice
We got a new fridge freezer at home recently and i put the old one from the house in my shead as my bait store, at first it was fine but recently i stocked up with a load of frozen baits and they dont seem to be frozen solid and have a slight smell, there is a good bit in the freezer but its not jam packed. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Freezer advice
is there a fast freeze button on the freezer sod, if so turn it on and get plenty of air space around stock as in dont force it in and rotate the stuff now an again
forgot to add you will need a pair of neoprene gloves for moving the stock around

Re: Freezer advice
I have the same problem with one of my freezers as well. I think its largely to do with outside temp in the garage.. its the frost free fridge freezer.. the other older freezer is spot on. I dont have a fast free freeze button on my freezer

Think your spot on with the outside temp theory its only started since the weather has turned cold, checked the freezer a few mins ago and the stuff is nearly defrosted

Re: Freezer advice
not good mate....maybe the freezer is on the blink. I have a double freezer that's been in the Garage for the last few years. I've has no hassles at all. Stuff is frozen solid at any time of the year, even on economy mode.

Re: Freezer advice
fridge freezers have a habit of doing this when the ambient temp drops below the temp of the fridge part it cuts out the freezer, they are a disaster for keeping bait in very cold weather ie. below 5degrees. better off with a dedicated freezer or keep your fridge freezer indoors.

Re: Freezer advice
you could put a rad in the shed to keep it warm so your bait stays frozen
same happened to me last year sod ,my chest freezer was ok but the fridge freezer let all the stuff go slighty soft not exactly frozen but not defrosted either, any crab or shellfish should be ok but bin any mack
and dont eat anything out of it

Re: Freezer advice
dont turn a fridge/freezer on for 8 hrs after moving it. something to do with airlocks in the fluid.
