Super Glue for rig making.......

#1 Post by PaddyB »

Has anyone ever tried using super glue when making rigs, say for glueing a stop bead or a 3 way bead in place instead of using crimps?

Is there specialist glue out there for sea fishing or would normal super glue do the job?

i've used standard superglue and it works. they use it on the continent. i wouldn't use it on 2 way beads as they wont be able to rotate. i have hauled dogs on it and they havent budged. some will just use simple two turn knots on the rig body when overhead casting and it works fine too. proper fishing glue might be worth a look, there is one that does a standard drop each time.

i use it alot on all my knots and it works a treat it stops stuff getting caught on the knots like weed and it prevents some tangles

The reason I like to use waterproof glue John, is that most of the time i'm fishing, my rigs are actually in the water

Don't know why that would be Paddy, have you tried gluing a bead in place ?, or are you trying to so the trick on the video with the droplet ?
