blackrock, Galway 12/1/10

People:myself and kaylemf

Duration:3 hours

Tide:dropping

Weather:Strong ESE wind, bucketing rain and cold

Bait:mack and squid

Rigs:3/0 and 4/0 pennal pullys

Results:myself: a coalie
Kaylem:blank

Report:Not much to report..last night i got an urge to try the area with big baits and big hooks hoping for a doggie, HUSS(even though i knew my chances of this were low) or a now elusive codling from the area. Conditions looked ok, bar the wind. Baits went out close and far and they were stripped within 20 minutes(probably from whiting, coalies and crabs). Finally got a nice nock on one rod, thought it could be a small codling but it wasnt to be...a coalie was on the end, at least it saved blanking. Was extreamly tough with the wind and rain and the numb hands.. fairplay to kaylem for sticking it out..he is a tough 14 year old il give him that!still nice to be out!
