i started fishing at 5pm and as soon as the lead reached the bottom and set the fish was biting not great sizes smallest 27cm biggest 45cm average 29-30 best bait crab or lug tipped with crab legs we ran out of bait by 8pm good little spot if you just fancy catching fish
that is good fishing, always the way when you have good fishing you run out bait???

If anybody is doubting that Jimmy did better than all the "experts" remember that the conditions would have been much different. They fished in daylight in calm, very cold weather, whereas Jimmy fished there last night in darkness as it got milder with a southerly wind beginning to pick up.

By the way how many of the 22 did the wife get?
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

Bass Totals:
2007: 1
2008: 37
2009: 120

was that in the comp for the juniors during the day
no not a junior comp, 20 senior anglers and 1 junior fished the westcork&district match at cobh.
lets put it into perspective, those fishing included the current irish master angler and world shore team captain, who has fished for the home nations team previously, last years munster champion and a previous munster champion, a recent irish world team member on several occasions, several members who are about to compete in the fish offs for the world team, members who have fished for the munster interprovincial team and a few who regularly fish the leinster league, along with at least nine lads who fish the munster closed legs every year, the only notable absentee was the current irish home international captain and jimmy smith winner, who couldnt make it due to work commitments..and many other less illustrious, but fine anglers in their own right took part.....now thats some group of juniors.......club sec sean o brien
it might be none of them had any pilchard oil or PASTE with them

hey jimmy
had you any hassle getting in or out of there? it was tough enough getting out after 2 hours of snow, the cars were sliding all over the road up the hill. id hate to have been trying to get out later on after another few hours of snow, not to mention trying to get down the hill to get in.
