I have done quite a bit of spinning out here over the last few weeks.I have been using small silver lures ,floating and diving plugs. I have caught a few mackeral but am looking for bass. I havent caught any. I have being fishing to the left of the carpark at different spots up the beach. What am I doing wrong is it wrong seasons, there is no bass there or bad technique? Any other good bass marks for spinning on in the waterford are ideally around tramore

Hi Daven

There have been a good few bass taken in the channel from the shore and boat on free line live sandeel you can dig the sandeel on the far side of channel below carpark at low tide. Hope this is of some help.

Hi Daven,

the channel on low water early morning @ dawn preferably is ideal with a suface popper. Failing that go out along the rocks at the very top of the beach (known as Fitzgeralds strand) and fish over the boulders and kelp on a rising evening tide. Live sandeel is deadly if you can get it but a floting or shallow diving plug will do.

Hope this helps.

Also along the coast from Annestown out ( rocky beaches ) can be rock hopped at low water with great success.
