wicklow beach 31/12/o9

#1 Post by mitch »

people me /millbrook
tide dropping
rigs 2 and 3 hook flappers
bait lug
results 4 schoolies, lots of codling , flounders, dabs , rockling

hit the beach around 7 pm fished till 11.30. fishing was a little slow till around 8.30 only small codling showing.
Things picked up a little with a mixture a fish starting to come in  Nothing hugh for the night biggest schoolie 33cm and best of the codling was 35 cm, weather was something else clear sky one minute then nearly a total
whiteout and the beach covered snow but strange enough is wasn't to cold ,i suppose with all the layers we had
on were never going to feel the cold. it was nice to get and get a few fish :P
Journey home was slow and took an extra 20 mins u couldn't see 20 ft in front of u with the snow

Happy new year to you all

Well done Gerry and Happy New Year, nice to get a few fish  .Went to Bray Harbour myself , stayed for an hour and blanked  .Some heavy snow showers coming right in my face made my mind up for me to go but i was glad to have at least gotten out of the house for a while  .I didnt fancy getting stuck on the m50, You couldnt see where the edges of the road were at times, and idiots were still overtaking

Many returns dave , idots is right we nearly got creamed on way home ,it was a blizzard and i could see a ambulance
comming in my rear view mirror so with a 2 ins of snow on ground i move over to hard shoulder to give him room
and when was just passed me i started to move back out ,you woudn't believe it there was a f...k.. tail gating the ambulance and then pulled into the same lane i was moving into ,there was only inches to spare  i flashed the f..k.. he hits his breaks, spins his jeep in front of me shouts abuse at me :?: then takes off Luckily i was going
at a sensabile speed .
Nearly a disaster

get a bit bigger

Hi John forgot we had 2 whiting, they seem to be very on the beaches at the moment ,
might give wicklow harbour a go there mighty tasty if you can get them even around the 30 cm mark
