hi lads thinking of heading to youghal today wandering is there any fish showing down that way ?am i better to stay around cork harbour caught a lash of pouts and very small codling around monkstown last fri just thinking is there any flounder being caught down youghal cheers for any info all set to get out today

Plenty of flounder still about. There is a lot of small codling about - typically less that 30 cm, but with the cold dry weather some bigger ones might be starting to come back in. There is also a plague of small coalfish which will be contantly nibbling on your bait.

thanks frank tryed today the deep water quay were the ships come in 1 6 inch coalie flew back up to cork to monkstown got 3 very small codling would you pick up codling on the beaches as well frank cheers thanks for reply

if there is a bit of wind the beaches would be worth trying on Saturday or Sunday
