W Waterford & Youghal

#1 Post by Stan »

People:Me & 4 others

Duration: 5 hours and then 4 more

Tide:1600

Weather:Cold,dry & NE wind

Bait:lures, lug, crab, mussel

Rigs: Various

Results:3 bass and loads of other fish

Report:Started fishing in We Waterford for bass at 1pm. 3 went on beach and I and 1 other opted for spinning off rocks.
Very quickly I got 1 nice bass. :D :D Then just dropped another . :x
I was using a Kilty. Soon afterwards Billy had a lovely 5lb fish. :D :D Finally I had a last one on Feed Shallow to complete the afternoon. Ground fishing produced nothing. :D :D

Home for the dinner at 1700......fresh fish!!

Back out at 9pm to Youghal. It was perishing with a cutting NE wind. Lots of small fish were caught by all. They would all have counted in a club comp. Activity was non stop. Lug was the best bait.

Water was very coloured & so did not expect lures to work. Seanie, another man that we both know caught a few in the same spot today. I look forward to getting back there soon again
