super charge your lumi beads

#1 Post by peterw »

Are you sick of holding up lumi beads or lures for ages in front of your headlamp only to watch the glow fading as you prepare to cast ? well if you have an L.E.D torch with an ultra-violet capacity then hold up the bead or lure to it for 5-10 seconds , this will give it a bright and long lasting glow .I tried it yesterday on an 8oz lumi weight and the thing shone like a bulb . Grauvell have brought out a small U.V torch with this in mind. Very handy for the long winter ahead

that sounds very interesting where can you buy one of these torches and the leads would you need to use bait as well.

i have a little uv led keyring i got from ebay last year for about €5 delivered from hong kong. the batteries dont last too long in it but he gave 3 sets of batteries with it and you dont need to have it on long for a good charge.

A Shore Thing in Westport, Mayo stocks these torches and leads .As for using bait Yes ,the beads and leads are only visual you need the scent to attract fish too
