North Wexford 5th of December

#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:Me the elder and waterbuoy

Duration:11 a.m. 'til 6 p.m.

Tide: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Weather:Windy and wet but wrapped up

Bait:Lug tipped with mack

Rigs:Homemade flappers

Results:3 small rockling, 9 small pollock, 2 small flounder, 7 small whiting, 3 codling, 1 small dab, 1 keepable dab and 1 unknown species.

Report:Headed to petrol station for the breakkie roll and were wrapped up upon arrival.  With a small surf on the arrival we decided to head along the coast with some mountaineering skills necessary to a hopeful mark we were disappointed when we saw the beach covered     fished the cliff but no results. Went back along and fished a middle stretch and only caught a small flounder a few whiting and a few pollock

After a cup of tae and waterbuoys mas gorgeus brown bread   we spent a few more casts and then headed back to our third point, the main stretch of beach fished here rightly. 8) between cups of tae  Weather was blustery but didnt feel a thing because we were wrapped up nice and snug 8) Sea was as rough as anything. In actual fact a large cargo ship was anchored only 300 or 400 yards away from the shoreline  Malachy then caught a medium sand dab. 8) On last cast reeled in a sorta mix between a cod and a pollock. Dont know what it is :?: See attachment

P.S. Wind was very bad so wasn't sure of the tide was never falling nor rising

Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
