Donegal/glengad rock mark 5-12-09

People me+one

Duration 10.20 to 2.30

Tide heading out

Weather decent but cold

Bait mac,squid

Rigs pully's/ two hook flappers

Results coalies plaice turbot

Report finally got a chance to get out an wet a line 8) "for i needed a fix big time" so headed for culdaff. there were a few guys fishing there and said that they haven't had a bite all morning, so we headed to glengad. got set up on a wee rock mark that i knew, witch i'v had good success on in the past. right away i was into a coalie, in fact i had landed 4 or 5 before the mate had even got his gear sorted out and got set up  when he eventually got himself all sorted and his rods baited and in the water he was into them right away, and it never took him long to catch up with me, he was bringing them in two at a time 8) all coalies were around the same size app' 1lb in weight, but gave a good scrap. after a few hours of catching them non stop i got fed up and changed over to a pully rig. baited it up with mac; and half a squids head and put it out as far as i could, it was out for near half an hour with not even a nibble on it, was just about to reel in to change the bait when i noticed a couple of small nods on the rod, left it for a while to see if anything would hit it a bit harder, but no joy. when i started to bring it in i could feel a bit of weight and just thought it was weed untill i felt a definite couple of pull's, ended up a nice plaice of app; 1 1/2lb and was well pleased with that one, the mate didn't give a toss for he was enjoying the coalie feast  he was still getting them two at a time and was loving every minute of it, ( because his last four trips he blanked ) so i kept my casts well out at distance, resulting in total, three turbot, not a great size to them, but was nice to see them showing up at this mark. i knew it was home time when the mate could not stop talking about GRUB  so i gave it an other half hour of coalie bashing with him before we headed home for the spud's. was great to get back out again, and really enjoyed the day
