I bought a cheep pier caster especially for the job. 30lb main line and 60lb shock leader. The lighter the better.
Ya i use my carbon metal, way more fun on beachcasters!

ha some super pics of the fishing that night but they wont upload for some reason ,
and i would say if you some knows where the spot is dont __ post it up for the world to see and over fish and kill our spots its fair we catch and release un harmed fish people are taken them out of the water and and killing them so they can show there friends or wat ever .not a good idea use pm in future we will they people if we trust them we put effort in to our sessions it would be a balls if people started fishing the spots and abusing them .
thats our veiw on thing
but back to the night i was not going for conger at first was trying for a bass or two but when i saw wat evan landed i changed straight away .. squid and mack load of big bites load of losses for me need to stock up on sharper hooks think my 4/0s are to thick and thats why i am lossing so many fish but great night all in all well done evan great night

think we are on par now for the biggest fish collective over the past few weeks we can have a haymaker of a day over the next few weeks and the winners buys the first round or two

Me and seany wrapped up in the warmest gear we could find and set out in the search for congers. We hit the mark at about 7 with the tide dropping fast. We set up the gear and cast the lines and i started to get good bites within a few minutes. I gave the reel a couple of winds and straight away knew i was into somethin big. My rod tip dipped down and stayed down. It took me 5 minutes to get any line back and my arms were tiring quick. I held the rod tip high and i could feel the fish ducking and diving hard, i held on tight to keep him up off the bottom and finally managed to surface the fish. Me and seany got the first look at the big white belly of a nice conger rolling and tumbling on the surface. I bullied him up to the wall and seany pulled him up. A few pictures and he went back with a big splash and the lines were set again. A few minutes later my rod tip dropped again. I lifted and got a few feet of line back. It fought similar to the first one but it managed to get a grip on the bottom and pulled the arms off me for about 20 minutes. I finally landed it. Puffing and panting with my arms hanging off, slightly smaller fish but great fight. Quick picture and back he went. I hooked another one, and at this stage i could barely keep a grip on my rod cause my arms were so tired after the first two. So the tactic was to pull like f**k and get him in quick. 5 minute fight and he spat the hook just as i got him to surface. Another nice fish but i'll have to go back for him another day. All in all a good night. The plan is now to re gut my reel and get out there again as soon as i have a chance. Seany was unlucky and missed/lost a few fish but we'll be more prepared the next time.

Cheers for reading,

If someone posts and does not disclose a mark its just possible they didnt want it widely known. IMHO If marks are not disclosed its probably best not to name a mark if you do you recognise them.

It's a bit of common sence and decency for your fellow anglers that you don't try to guess a mark and post the place your thinking of up. A couple of hints and tips are always offered if i'm asked about something that i think i could help with. Alot of people could identify marks by looking at photos but you don't put it up on an open forum. As i said, a bit of decency and consideration is all thats asked. But as Mr. Tayto says with his infinate wisdom, "there's always one!" I think i'll have a look through a couple of users posts and go down and net the marks they fish.
