woke up and went down for breakfast to be asked "so are we going fishin?".. a quick check of the weather (head out the front door) ah sure.. might as well..
headed out to the mark and set up and it wasnt long before coalfish were hitting the baits, and they were hitting hard the whole time, as the light faded poor cod started to make an appearence, various combinations were used and when i put on mack tipped with sandeel i got a large bang.. woohooo.. doggie.. havent seen one of those in a while.. a few small codling made an appearence too.. then i got one big bang... didnt know if it was just my eyes playing tricks on me until it hit again.. reeling in this felt like a good fish, a nice codling.. good enough for the pan too
the wind had changed direction and where we were, we were even more sheltered, but the sky began to clear and the temperature began to drop, gara managed to get stuck into weed and it took a while to get free, but when lifter out the rig there was one hook less, but on the other hook there was a nice surprise of a shore rockling dangling in front of him... a few more poor cod, coalies and codling later wee decided to head back home, but not before stoppiing of at the charcoal grill for a chicken doner and curry chips...
i think gara is well and truely hooked.. (and at one stage he was.. i think he wanted to use his finger as bait
