county antrim rock mark....

#1 Post by Bass Buster »

people-just me.

date-16/11/09.

weather-wet and windy with drivin rain, later turning into a full gale...

bait-rag,mack.

time-19.00-23.30.

results- whittn,pollack,dogs.

decide to go for a session on monday night after work to use up bait from the weekend.Got to the mark around 18.30 got set up and had a walk around the rocks to see the best place to fish.finally after 30 mins walking around i decided on a mark,so got the line in the water.it was slow to say the least but after an hour i was on to my first fish of the evening, a dog fish (blank saved) not a bad size either,so quickly got baited up and back into water.then the whittn started to show and i managed to pull whittn after whittn for about an hour.once the whittn bashing was over for a while i decided it was tea time,so a quick cup of tea and a smoke and i was off again(by this stage i was completely soaked rite through)I re-baited and cast out again and it seemed to go quite nothing for a while( by this point the bait was low)so decided last cast time as the wind and rain was only gettn stronger, so i decided to leave the bait in the water as i got the rest of my stuff together and wen i was putting things in my tackle box my tri-pod went over(which i thought was just the wind) but wen i picked my rod up i felt something knocking at the bait and before long i had it hooked and it was worth the wait as it turned out to be a 5lb pollock :D (my biggest this year)so in the end it turned out to be a good nights fishing apart from the weather......ROLL ON THE WEEKEND...

Nice going man. Any person who fishes in these conditions deserves quality fish (as well as a cat scan  )- well done mate. That is a good pollock in any ones book from the shore.

It is always hateful having to throw away bait after a weekend's fishing.

Well done on a fine session despite the weather - great pollock too - I thought they would be getting scarce at this time of the year.
