#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me + mick

Duration:5.00-11.00pm

Tide:dropping

Weather:blustery

Bait:rag, squid, mackeral

Rigs:flapper, pulley, clipped down

Results:me;8 coalfish, 2 dogfish. mick;2 coalfish, 2 dogfish

Report:arrived at the beach and right away started hitting fish them coalies really do give the rod a good nod all coalfish one after another all between 31-35cm and all in the third breaker. Things then went quiet for at least 25min  so we decided to move over to the pier to look for another species (hoping for thornies) but it was dog city so we called it a night and I got home early as promised
Checked my fishing diary from last year and I was catching thornbacks this time last year last recorded was 3 of about 4lb each on 29nov. They all seem to have left the swilly much earlier this year. was last year late or this year early for them :?: I'm only in my secound year fihing for them so dont know the patterns yet

Most of the doggies I've had from the swilly have been quite plump recently all ready to spawn?
