I'm in work so a very quick note..
Kaat's strand should be good for flounder.
The new quay had some mice cod last week- I had no luck though.
The water seemed quite dirty around wexford coast- some kind of alaga bloom?
Both venues use peeler if you can get it.

if your fishing kaats strand you will need peeler crab and lots of it, the marks to fish are on a rising tide just right of the old bridge where there is a bit of a man made cave you only need to cast 15yds here. go futher around past the wall about 30yds is another good spot, futher up past the ham to where the lane is can be another good spot on a good day 30 flounder can be expected, you can get the odd small bass, september on is best time.

I went down here (Kaats Strand - Wexford) on Saturday PM and fished a 2 #2 hook flapper with beads and sequins. The Wind was a strong southerly and it was raining. The Tide dropped for an hour to low tide and rose for an hour.

I was using frozen peeler crab.

Has anybody got any ideas on what could have been done better or was it timing of the tides, the weather etc.

was a big comp there two weekends ago and it was won with about 6 fish. Usually about double that is required and the opinion seems that the fishing is below par at moment. Might be worth trying somewhere else.
