I've caught little poor cod before but they might just look a bit different when they're bigger. They were definitely a different colour to the one in the photo. Pink on the back to white/silver on the belly. Slim fish too like the one in the photo.
Species 2014: whiting, coalie, pouting, codling, pollack, ballan wrasse, dab, poor cod, mackerel, grey gurnard, conger, ling, cuckoo wrasse, launce, common skate, bass, scad, garfish, blue shark

Species 2015: Ballan wrasse, poor cod, pollack, ling, flounder, turbot, mackerel, whiting, lsd, dab, grey gurnard, pouting, cuckoo wrasse, cod

then they too are whiting, like i said sometimes they can appear more colourful and bright in appearance, the fish in you pictures is definitley not a hake though.

Just another twist in the hake story. A half decker trawling in front of Cobh last week picked up HAKE, aswell as John Dory. All fish were picked up within casting distance of the quays. I was surprised that John W and the lads from Aghada SAC didn't pick up any in their competition on Monday night  .
