Ballyhenry Fri 23rd Oct. New species.

People:Me, Der Baron and Kev

Duration:midday to 1700 ish

Tide:Flooding. HT 1630

Weather:Fine, light South Easterly

Bait:Rag, Mack, Squid

Rigs: Pulleys, flappers

Results:Dogs, codling, Ballan wrasse




Report: Der Baron and myself headed for Ballyhenry and took a brief foray towards the wreck. It is very weedy there but glad I made the trek to the point as I picked up my first ever Dogfish :lol: :lol: It was pretty quiet there and after Der Baron lost a rig or two :evil: we decided to move round to the bay where Kev caught up with us. Kev landed a couple of small codling and I landed another dog :lol: in very pleasant conditions, T-shirt most of the day for me! I had to leave a bit early but Der Baron saved his blank in injury time with a Ballan Wrasse :o
Not a big pile of fish but a nice day out :D A new species is always nice :lol: :lol:

congrads on the doggie fenton :P that's one of those marks we've always intended to fish but just never got round to it :roll: :roll: . not loads of fish, but you avoided the blank and sounded like a pleasent enough day 8)

Cheers Al, we have been there a few times this year, normally catch something but the rods don't get overly busy!

ballyhenry apparently chucks up bass,i have seen no proof as yet, would be good if they are though.
