i don't think it would mater what type of rig you use, for if the doggies are on the feed they will take anything and everything. and I've noticed that the swilly has come alive with doggies this last couple of weeks  we fished two different marks on it this morning, two of us, four rods out, i had over 20 doggies between the two marks, the mate had near the 30 mark. the place is hiving with them. so i don't think it maters weather you fish from the pier or any other mark, recond you will still hit in to them.
as ole rab c said " see me' see the sea' i love the sea me"
right i'am off for a swally!!!!!!! so were's the F***'n purse!!!!!!!

Doggies can take all baits at all distances so there hard to avoid, pier or beach doesnt seem to make a difference when the doggies are feeding hard they will home in on your bait in no time, but youll be glad of them on days when the other fish arnt playing ball, they have saved manys the blank.

nice session man. sometimes you just can't avoid the dogs, but getting dogs is still better than reeling in untouched baits any day

Nought wrong with the peir for handy safe fishing but hard to avoid the doggies. Could try Lenan peir, beach or the rocks behind it. Well done on gettin a few.
