Between Kilmichael and Clones 28th of Oct.

#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:Meself and the one 'nd only trouthunter

Duration:13:00 'til 17:00

Tide:Rising upon arrival

Weather:Cloudy with a wind blowing from the south

Bait:Live crab and rag

Rigs:various

Results:2 schooley bass,1 dab, 1 coley

Report:Because of me poor auld father putting his back out of place due to his hard work typical of him, just tryin to feed me  To cheer the man up I decided that we should go fishing, the ultimate relaxation pill. As we drove round the coast near Tara Hill and castletown we took the road down to clones but took a left just before the strand and stopped along the rural road just a few hundred yards away from other fisherman on the other side of the rock. And so it was. We baited up and casted out with difficulty as the rockspace was about 2 metres width. After half an hour waiting time we reeled in and my father had a small dab with a schooley bass on mine, both biting coinsidently only 2 mins before we reeled in. Then I caught a nice schooley bass, although of a small length he had a fat belly on him. About 15 mins later I once again reeled in a coley of small size. We both waited most patiently like the fishermen we are for an hour 'til our patience worn out and so we reeled in and headed to Ballymoney South beach just before dark set on the southeast coast. We held not a bit of luck there but headed home with me father after a fair days fishing  8) 8) :) :D :D :) 8)
Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
