morriscastle co.wexford

#1 Post by eric »

People: me and masterkeane

Duration: 4-9

Tide: never too sure down this way!

Weather: neigh bad, a lovely surf was lapping up over the bar

Bait: lug, rag and mack, the winning baits you know!!

Rigs: three hook flappers

Results: between us around 30 flounder, around 10 small schoolies and two whiting

Report: not too much too report had some bait left over from the comp yesterday. we made a descicion to target bass and flats. morriscastle seemed a good a mark as any. from the beginning there where plenty of flounder who where more than happy to sample our baits. include a few doubles and a treble. no real size to them unfortunatley biggest was about 25cm. the odd schoolie thrown in for decent measure and a couple of small whiting to make up the numbers. was really hopping for a few 40cm + bass for a bit of craic, sadly was not be. easy fishing :D

I have a feeling there will be a few decent size bass about in the next couple of weeks so well stick at it at least there is good sport to be had with the schoolies.
