Co Down Rock Mark 11/10/09

#1 Post by minty »

People:Me Al and Jordan

Duration:13.00 till 18.30 Al and Jordan there before me

Tide:rising

Weather:sunny

Bait:rag squid and mack

Rigs:2 hook, spinners and float

Results:wrasse, pollack ,conger

Report:
Arranged to meet up with Al and Jordan for a session, arrived at the mark to see them both fishing, think they were there a few hours before me. After a tricky climb up some rocks ( because i usually bring everything but the kitchen sink ) i got set up beside the lads. Decided to rig up for some conger first to see if i could tempt the one Al lost :x :x out of his lair. Not sure exactly what the lads had got before me, few wee conger and some pollack i think. i went staight out on the float with could results of pollack and wrasse :D :D . i was pretty happy with the size of the fish but Al told me they were pretty average for this place   . Chucked out a 2 hook rig and within 10 mins landed my biggest pollack ever, think it weighed in about 1&1/2lb. ( a fair bit bigger than the fish i get when fishing of the beaches ) :D :D :D . after a few lost rigs it was back to the float, steady numbers of pollack and wrasse including my new p.b :D :D :D . was turning out to be a very good day. Also had a few bumps on the conger gear but no takes. Al and jordan were also getting a decent run on the pollack with at least one the same if not bigger than mine each as well as some good wrasse :D :D :D . packed up before the light dropped, but am already looking forward to the next trip back here :) :) .
Sorry the reports a bit late and just hope i included all Al and Jordans catches.......................

nice one minty. the pics turned out well man :P we had a great day out with plenty of banter    jordan ended up with 4 pollack, 3 ballan wrasse and a short spined sea scorpion. i got 7 ballan wrasse, 3 pollack and a wee strap conger. give us a shout when you get back up man and we could give the rock marks over the other side of st johns point a go. killard point might be worth a chuck or some of the ardglass rock marks for a change :D
