aPeople:Me

Duration:1145-2130

Tide:Up Down UP

Weather:Dry, Slight breeze, Sunny spells, Mild

Bait:Mack, Bluey, Rag, Sandeel,Lug

Rigs:Runnin ledger, Flattie

Results:Thornback, Dogfish, Coalie, Whiting, Dab, Blenny?

Report:After a disapointing session on a north Wicklow mark on Sunday :( where I met a few of the lads off the site, ( Thanks to all for your help and advice and nice to be able to put a face to the names) :D :D I headed to Donegal. Crana Pier has been good to me this year and didnt let me down.
Two other lads pulled in just before me and before I had a rod in the water they had a thorny and doggie between them 8) Not bad I thought, looking good :) Nothing for about 45mins, they've caught the only fish of the day  Boy was I wrong, all three of us were into fish at once, rays and a doggie for me. :D This was the pattern for the next hour and a half. I couldnt connect with a ray, then my rod tip bent slowly down and I knew my luck had changed. A nice thornback hit the scales at 6lb 14oz the biggest of the day. :D :D The doggies kept coming, in fact they never really stopped all day so I went to work on the flatties. Soon lifted a dab, another was to follow on the next cast 26cm. Small whiting to 20cm and coalie to 32cm started to take the flattie rig and that ended the flatties. Also landed a blenny? on it. Will try and get pic up. All in it was a great days fishing, 2thornback, 2dab 1blenny countless dogs, coalie and whiting, just what I needed after 420miles and £100 fuel :D :D :D :D

ps. The other 2 lads had countless doggie and 13rays and were still fishing when I left :P

Sounds like a great session! Was at Buncrana on Friday night and got 8 doggies myself.. was chuffed as I've never caught one before

Out of interest - what part of the pier were you fishing, and what bait seemed to be working for the rays?

The dogs seemed to love my frozen bluey, mack worked too but not as well as the smelly ole bluey!
